International Rules and Regulations in Travel Industry and Hospitality

Terms of Reference

 

Background

Modern University College (MUC) has received a grant from the Quality Improvement Fund (QIF)- Education to Work Transition Project / Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, funded by the World Bank for the project entitled: “Developing and Enhancing the Quality of Tourism and Hotel Management Diploma Program in Palestine”. Accordingly, MUC is seeking the selection and employment of trainer(s) for teaching staff and private sector.

 

Assignment Objective:

MUC is considering the selection trainer(s) for teaching tourism staff at MUC.

The trainer(s) will need to be able to work on specified deadlines, and producing the intended results. 

Qualifications and Skills Requirements:

This call for trainer(s) is open for individual trainers. The trainer should conduct a training course for staff (TOT) for 10 to 15 faculty members and private sector institutions supervisors.

The training course name : International Rules and regulations in travel industry and Hospitality


The trainer(s) should have the following qualifications and experiences:

- At least bachelor degree in Tourism and Hotel management. Master degree is preferable

- At least 5 years of Excellent experience in travel and tourism industry and  hospitality industry.

- At least three-years working experience as a trainer in International rules and regualtions in travel industry and Hospitality and relevant fields.

- Ability to share knowledge and building the capacity.

- Sound knowledge of Palestinian Tourism and Hotel management sector.

- Good English language and communication skills.

Tasks:

For all the Key Activities and Deliverables mentioned below the trainer(s) has/ have to consult with the MUC project management and project coordinator. The trainer(s) tasks will include but not be limited to the following:

- Preparing training course layout, design overall course-work activities, and other documents such as a handouts and exercises.

- Prepare training course learning materials based on a conceptual understanding of new learning approach and its application in tourism program.

- Developing an action plan for conducting the training mission. This includes the main  topics to be covered, and the types of evaluation methodologies used.

- Delivering around 18 hour TOT course to a group of 10-15 trainers (mentors and supervisors staff from private sector and an academic staff from MUC ) in the field of International Rules and regulations in travel industry and hospitality  as well as helping them to utilize efficient teaching methodologies in the same field.

- Empower participants in the related topics.

- Use a participatory approach in conducting the training.

- Motivate, promote and assist trainees in the required assignment.

- Use group team based training methods.

- Evaluate the effectiveness of the training course based on the intended outcomes.

- Provide project management with a progress report during training and upon course completion.

 

Deliverables:

  1. An Action Plan.
  2. A successfully delivered staff training course in International rules and regulations travel industry and hospitality consisting of around 18 hours intensive training course to develop the skills and knowledge of the (mentors and supervisors staff from private sector and an academic staff) as well as preparing all the staff evaluation tools.
  3. Detailed report including the implemented tasks, developed training material and associated deliverables (soft and hard copies), obstacles met, lessons learned, trainees evaluation, attendances sheet, conclusions and recommendations.
  4.  Approval on the submitted material from the college and project admin is a must.
  5. Training course layout and outline at the beginning of the training.

 

Level of effort and time frame:

  1. The trainer will be working for 3 days (6 hours each) from October 19th to October 21st 2019
  2. The expected level of effort (LOE) is 18 hours.
